Opportunities Ahead
Christophe Renard, Editor-in-Chief, CWT Vision – Global Edition
We are entering the second half of what has been a year of economic recovery with varying degrees
of growth from one region to the next. At Carlson Wagonlit Travel, we are optimistic that the
positive trend will continue over the next six months. Nonetheless, we anticipate there will be
challenges alongside the opportunities.
The business travel industry continues to change at a rapid pace. Technology and new forms of
communication are evolving constantly and for the most part, we all benefit as a result. Another
fine example of our collective progress is high-speed rail, which increasingly offers a viable
alternative to air travel in many countries around the world. It is also worth noting that when
industry giants come together to support a common cause such as the MASSIVEGOOD global healthcare
initiative, we are stronger individually and as a whole. But there are warning signals we must
acknowledge.
